Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Ouyang Xiaoping, Lu Chunfang, Fan Guobin, Liu He and Yang Hong gathered together to give inspirational speeches to Party members and cadres of HUTB.
Academician Ouyang Xiaoping shared his insights on "how to identify and master the core and key technologies that lead the innovation system” at the training session. He explained his views in four aspects, which included “the core position of innovation," “the driving force and connotation of innovation," “the elements and approaches of innovation" and "examples of groundbreaking key technological innovation.” Academician Ouyang gave a detailed analysis of the application of technologies with scientific and technological innovation such as liquid oligomer monolayer graphene, nano-polycrystalline and monocrystalline diamonds, efficient hydrogen production by biomass electrolysis, and low-temperature and efficient power generation. He guided the audience to explore new ideas about scientific and technological innovation, improve scientific and technological innovation capacity and seize the opportunities of scientific and technological innovation.
Academician Lu Chunfang gave a lecture titled "The Innovative Practice of Fuxing Bullet Trains." He expounded the innovative practice of Fuxing bullet trains in four aspects, which included “the development of Fuxing bullet trains and China's demand," “the nationwide mechanism innovation," “the fruitful innovation achievements" and “the noticeable beneficial results of innovation." He said that the Fuxing bullet trains marked the full realization of independence, standardization and serialization of China's high-speed railway technology, which greatly enhanced China's voice in international discourse and the core competitiveness of China's high-speed railways. From a follower to the maker of world standards, China has become a true world leader in high-speed railway technology.
Focusing on the theme of "scientific and technological innovation and competition," Academician Fan Guobin recapped the history of scientific and technological innovation and competition in the world, cited relevant typical cases, and offered an in-depth analysis and study on the current situation of competition in global scientific and technological innovation. He pointed out that facing the complicated international situation, we should stand up to the challenges and obstacles with greater resolution, accelerate the implementation of comprehensive independence and controllability, enhance scientific and technological innovation capacity, continuously improve China's composite strength, and make due contributions to the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
Academician Liu He gave a lecture titled "Study and Challenges of Energy Development under the Constraint of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality." He shared his analysis and interpretation of this subject in three aspects, including "forecast of China's carbon emission trend and energy consumption," “main challenges faced by 'carbon neutrality'" and "construction path of regional 'carbon neutrality' pilot demonstration area." He believes that "carbon peaking-carbon neutrality" is not only an important step for promoting the energy revolution and the progress of human civilization, but also a strategic goal of China's economic and social development. He believes that it will set up new development models and achieve win-win and sustainable development of economy, energy, environment and climate.
Academician Yang Hong gave a lecture titled "Our Conquest Is the Stars and the Universe." He shared his insights in four aspects, namely "the history of world manned spacecraft development," "China's manned space development strategy," "discussion on the application of China's space station" and "the aspirations of aerospace workers." Academician Yang's lecture vividly demonstrated the spirit of "Two Bombs, One Satellite" and "manned space," as well as the Shenzhou culture of "putting national interests first, scaling new heights bravely in scientific and technological fields, ensuring zero defects, zero faults and zero doubts, sticking together through thick and thin.” Academician Yang said that as an aerospace worker, he will "face the gap squarely with a sober mind and start from scratch." He added that "success is the absolute principle, our capabilities will speak for us."
The "Lectures for Cadres" is a major measure to implement HUTB Party Committee's work to "Establish Better WorkStyle, Change Study Style, Improve Quality and Seek Innovation." The purpose of the training is to firmly "promote learning through lectures, promote thinking by learning and promote action by learning." The "Lectures for Cadres" has successfully held three training sessions. 15 academicians, experts, government administrators and famous entrepreneurs have been invited to give special training at HUTB.
